3 TED Talks Everyone in Advertising Should Watch

Here are 3 of the most outstanding TED Talks I think everyone in the advertising/marketing industry should see – all dealing with advertising on a remarkable level of insight.   If you like these – I know you’ll love them – I have a bunch more.  I spend just about all my free time researching, bookmarking and consuming this kind of content.   However, I get so busy with my work and personally driven research agendas, that I sometimes forget how much time I could save others by simply sharing my “best of” bookmarks and resources.   I’m going to try to put forth more effort to provide some curated content for anyone who might share in my interests.

3 great TED talks that have passed my “Would I watch it again?” test with flying colors.

When people ask me for my tips on great video content, I actually have dozens upon dozens of great videos ranging in topics from quantum physics to animal intelligence research to my favorite South Park episodes and more.   Today, I’ll just start off with 3 great TED talks related to advertising, that have passed my “Would I watch it again?” and “Would I tell everyone else to watch them?” tests with flying colors. I’ve watched each these a number times with no less interest and enthusiasm and have referred my colleagues to watch them over and over again.

Rory Sutherland: Life Lessons From An Ad Man

Advertising adds value to a product by changing our perception, rather than the product itself. Rory Sutherland makes the daring assertion that a change in perceived value can be just as satisfying as what we consider “real” value — and his conclusion has interesting consequences for how we look at life.

Morgan Spurlock: The Greatest TED Talk Ever Sold
